I feel bad for neglecting DA lately..story of my life it seems. But for those of you who are still actively watching..thank you . I still pop in once in awhile to view and fave artworks and browse peoples/friends pages or post a random comment..but that's about the gist of it. I haven't had much time to work on anything new lately; when I have the time I'll spend maybe 30 minutes on an old project here and there.

I also feel bad for not uploading anything, but I really don't have the time. I found out I was accepted for an internship with pay and paid rent..so that's really great news for me. I'm just trying to get everything in order for me to leave by the 31st..so that's what I've been doing. I'm pretty excited..especially with how the economy is..I'm pretty lucky to get this job since plenty of people applied. It doesn't have anything to do with art really..but it's pay..great pay for someone my age..so I'll take it I'll be able to save my earnings since I don't have to worry about rent. Plus, I'll have a roommate so we may split the costs on some things. Things are really turning around and I thank God for that. It's just the change that I need(hopefully). I will miss my mom, pets and some family terribly though..but I'm sure it will be worth it.

On another note..back to the DA update. I've made a few things in the past month but I haven't uploaded them. I made a (digital painting) CD cover for an art contest and I was putting a lot of time into it but I only had a week before the deadline. I was really hoping to make a photo-manip that would really mimic the mood of the past cd covers but my internet was just not fast enough to look for the stock for that. I didn't win, but I'm so happy with the winner's artwork, it's very well done (a manip ). I'm actually proud of my piece though considering the time limit I was given, it turned out better than expected. I may upload it soon so you can see how my painting skills have improved some. I also have 3 paintings I'm working on..a couple have gone weeks and weeks..maybe months back..but I keep adding them little by little and learning in the process. One is meant as a gift for one of my favorite painters on DA so hopefully it will get done soon. They are pretty big files and my computer keeps freezing up when I work on them so I may just wait until I get to Seattle and get a new laptop to attempt them again. So overall I have:
1 completed CD cover
1 dog portrait commission
3 digital paintings &
4 photo-manipulations I'm in the process of working on. So one of these days my gallery might just be flooded with submissions all at once. I'm really trying to improve my skills so I'm not going to upload anything that I'm not thrilled with..or something that just feels.."mediocre" to me. I sometimes envy people who can come up with works within a couple hours or days when it sometimes takes me weeks to complete anything.

Along with all those..I've been broadening my interests a bit. When I go to Seattle I'm going to have my hand at making fondant cakes and trying to improve my baking skills. I may also take a dance class along with doing my daily workout routine. I'm also going to try pick up another instrument or try to further my learning with the flute and Irish whistle...now that I look at all that..it's no wonder I don't have a social life..=/. Soo if I do end up having a good hand at baking, I may upload pictures of some yummy treats.

When I have more time I will try hold my first contest that the awesome !bitchinblack has kindly accepted my request to help judge and/or co-host.
